Yankton, SD – Jay Williams, South Dakota’s Democratic U.S. Senate candidate commented on a revelation U.S. House Candidate Paula Hawks made during a televised debate with her opponent.
In a statement Mr. Williams said:
“Paula Hawks, the democratic candidate for the U.S. House of Representatives, revealed during her debate with Republican Kristi Noem that she had been sexually assaulted while she was a college student. Paula made this statement to illustrate that the self-professed sexual predator, Donald Trump is totally unfit to be a candidate for President. Paula’s courage is an inspiration to all women who have experienced sexual assault and to all people, men and women, who believe in standing up to bullies and predators. Paula’s courage is in complete contrast to both Representative Noem and Senator Thune who plan to vote for the unfit Presidential candidate. Both Noem and Thune should be ashamed for supporting Trump. There is no explanation for supporting such an unfit character to be the leader of the free world. Even if Thune and Noem dislike Secretary Clinton, they should have the courage to denounce Trump. By continuing to publicly say they are voting for him, they are aligning themselves with him. South Dakota and the United States deserve better.”
