Thursday night at Way Park was couples night with Rose and Van Arp leading of with a series of popular tunes. I especially liked the rendition of “Just Call Me Angle in The Morning” that was performed in resonant harmony by two people that obviously have a connection that is difficult to ignore.
Rose and Van Arp were followed by “The Ramblin’ Rangers” a Hot Springs duo comprised of Bonnie and Brad Exton. They lived up to their billing playing a mix of cowboy music and country. When you say country music there is a slight confusion, maybe I heard wrong, but no pickups, beer, whiskey troubles, or wayward men or women seemed to be in any of the songs. Just good, solid music to sit back and enjoy or, get up and move around a bit if you were so inclined.
The next Summer Music in Way Park will be tuesday, July 19 featuring Steve Linde and Pegie Douglas.
